Who We Are...Our names are Daryl and Heather McClain and we have been happily married ( to each other) for over twenty years. That said, we have a pretty good idea of what makes a good marriage, and we believe it all starts with great cake! Okay, maybe we're biased about the cake because we are the owners of McClain Creations custom cake shop. Our shop just happens to be our own licensed home kitchen, so if you drop by unexpected and catch us working in our pajamas, well, just don't be jealous.
Our Family...Our daughter Taylor is a Junior at OSU and a new Mommy to the beautiful and very rambunctious Isabella Noel, and our son Hayden is a Freshman at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Taylor loves to dance and spending time with family and friends. She looks forward to becoming a physical therapist after college. Hayden loves to go fishing and shooting. Hayden also plays the guitar and enjoys singing and is starting a christian band with friends. We hope you have enjoyed seeing and hearing about our family. We have the best kids in the world (as does everyone with kids) and a truly wonderful and blessed life. We are so thankful for all of the many blessings we receive and hope that we can shine Gods light to all!
Why We Do It...We simply believe a cake should look as good as it tastes and taste as good as it looks and both should exceed customer expectations. We specialize in Custom Cake Design, with the emphasis on Custom. Our free consultation is our way of getting to know you, our future customer and friend, and also an opportunity to share the fruits of our labors with anyone who may be in the market for a great cake. We pride ourselves on creating the coolest cakes that you can dream up for your birthday or special occasion! We specialize in helping you to create your vision. You are the creator, we just make it happen. We also pride ourselves on creating and maintaining a positive relationship with our clients. We pledge to work closely with you to achieve your goals and make your special occasion spectacular.
|Our family grew by two on December 3, 2011 as we added |
our daughter's husband Jordan and his adorable little girl, Emma.
The ceremony, held at the historic Buckingham House near
downtown Newark, was officiated by Pastor Wes Humble and
included 80 of the bride and groom's closest friends and family.
The beautiful wedding reception included amazing food from
Doug's Farside Deli and the disc jockey talents of James
Walters of J and W DJ and Photography. The stunning photos are courtesy of Jennifer Flowers Photography. The cake,
well obviously, the cake was provided free of charge by the bride's parents (talk about pressure).
Welcome to the family Jordan and Emma!
